Quick Overview
Season:
This half-day tour explores the highlights near Banff town in search of the park’s wildlife. We recommend this tour for those visiting Banff without a vehicle, as visiting the same spots on time is very easy. Along the route, you can spot bears, coyotes, elk, bighorn sheep, foxes, and more.
The tour is run by Radventures, a local Bow Valley company. They have knowledgeable guides and limit the group size to 12. You’ll likely spot sheep and elk as they’re the most common and reliable. Any other wildlife sightings would be very fortunate.
Regardless, the tour hits many of our favorite highlights around the Banff area, such as Vermilion Lake, Surprise Corner, and Lake Minnewanka. All of the sites are accessible via public transit, hiking, or biking from the center of town. They may not visit at opportune times, and most visitors likely won’t know the areas most frequented by wildlife.
