Quick Overview

Destination:
  • Jasper
Type:
  • Water Sports
Adrenaline Level:
  • 😊
Season:
  • Summer
Length:
  • Half Day

You can whitewater raft on the Athabasca River, but a calmer and more family-friendly experience would be an easy yet scenic float down the Athabasca. With a float tour, you get all the awesome perks of rafting and canoeing, but without all the work and at a leisurely pace while the guides do all the work. Travel the same way that was used by the “fur traders” many years ago. You may even see a moose or bear hanging out by the shore.

The small group rafting float trip takes you down several miles on Class II rapids, which means it’s a very light float. You may get a little wet with splashes, but there is nothing too intense or scary on this tour. This is great for families with very young children and even dogs, as Jasper Raft Tours are dog-friendly!

Guests wishing to bring their dogs along must book the Dog Friendly scheduled trip.

We're Cameron and Natasha

We've been writing about travel for the last decade. In 2018, we settled in the Canadian Rockies, one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Now, we live in Canmore and spend as much time as possible exploring and hiking around Banff. It’s one of the most spectacular areas and the perfect place for an outdoor vacation.

We aim to help you get the most out of your trip to Banff National Park and the surrounding areas. Learn more about us or support our work.
