If you want to go for a half-day hike, one of the best options in the winter is the Grotto Canyon hike near Canmore. It’s one of the best winter hikes, and it will lead you to discover intriguing rock formations and delve into the rich history of the Hopi natives.

While you can hike it in the summer, we absolutely love it in the winter. Even in the winter, this famous canyon with rock art is possible to walk along the frozen creek.
