Due to its remoteness and overall lack of development, Jasper boasts impressive views of the stars, galaxies, and constellations, which are often tricky to see in more urban areas. It’s one of Parks Canada’s 13 Dark-Sky Preserves and if you get a clear night, this is a great tour to enjoy. What is a Dark Sky Preserve? Well it’s essentially a astronomy park, where local rules and bylaws ensure there is no light pollution from city lights.
Whether amateur stargazer or enthusiast, the planetarium’s trained guides will lead you on a virtual tour of the galaxy and explain a few of those mysteries of modern science, like the aurora borealis.
The Planetarium has one of the largest telescopes in North America, and on this tour, you’ll get to peer through its massive lenses and gaze into impossibly distant worlds.
The Telescope and Planetarium combo tour allows you to enjoy the planetarium and after gaze out to the sky using one of Alberta’s best and most powerful telescopes!
