One of the newest hotels in Canmore is the luxurious Malcolm Hotel. It makes for a tremendous base in the Canadian Rockies with all the amenities you could need for a summer or winter trip. Service is always great, and the hotel has amenities like valet parking and bellhops if that’s your sort of thing.

However, we love its location in Spring Creek, a desirable neighborhood just steps away from downtown Canmore. This provides ample access to the town’s best restaurants, such as the Bridgette Bar, 4296, and Rocket Pie. Conveniently, it also sits along Policeman’s Creek Boardwalk, a short walk perfect for slow mornings with a cup of coffee.

Rooms are comfortable with several room types, such as double queen beds, king rooms, and pet-friendly rooms for those traveling with their pets. The beds are comfortable with good linens and clean, modern bathrooms.

A series of rooftop decks offers phenomenal views. The most notable view comes from the heated outdoor pool and hot tub area, which looks out to the Three Sisters. The hotel also has a small fitness center, coffee shop, restaurant, banquet hall, game lounge, and outdoor fire pit.

One of the biggest complaints about the hotel is the high room rates and value. While it is the only luxury hotel in Canmore, it’s certainly not going to wow any visitors when compared to other destinations.

The rooms are comfortable but nothing special. They also lack a kitchen or kitchenette, a popular feature for many travelers. We love them, as they allow us to easily make a packed lunch for hikes in the mountains. We also find that the staff, while friendly, are not quite up to the level of a luxury hotel.

No matter what, you can’t go wrong with booking a stay here! We also love it around the holidays, as the entire hotel does a wonderful job with Christmas decor.
