The Banff Hop-on Hop-off Bus has become quite popular recently for providing a seamless way to get around. The Hop On Hop Off Bus is exactly what it sounds like – a bus that lets you quite literally hop on and off when you want! The bus starts in Banff and stops at Johnston Canyon, the Lake Louise Gondola, Lake Louise, and Moraine Lake throughout the day.

If you want to hike at Lake Louise or Moraine Lake, this is a great option, as they have a flexible schedule with multiple departure times throughout the day. Buses depart several times daily during the summer from either the Moose Hotel and Suites on Banff Avenue or the Banff Heritage Train Station. Just note that the later you depart, the fewer places you can explore, so we recommend booking the earliest bus available if you want to go hiking.

Hop On Hop Off Transport Overview

  • Departs from: 2 Departures a day starting in Banff (we recommend the 7:45 am & 9:30 am departure)
  • Duration: Self Dependent
  • Cost: $120 + tax
  • Pets allowed: No
  • Sunrise Anywhere? No

We're Cameron and Natasha

We've been writing about travel for the last decade. In 2018, we settled in the Canadian Rockies, one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Now, we live in Canmore and spend as much time as possible exploring and hiking around Banff. It’s one of the most spectacular areas and the perfect place for an outdoor vacation.

We aim to help you get the most out of your trip to Banff National Park and the surrounding areas. Learn more about us here. If you've found our website helpful for planning, please consider booking some of our recommendations or supporting our work here.
