Quick Overview

Destination:
  • Lake Louise
  • ·
  • Moraine Lake
Type:
  • Shuttle

WowBanff operates an open-top shuttle service to both Moraine Lake and Lake Louise daily. So this is the ideal tour to sit outside and breathe in the fresh mountain air as you travel to the lakes. On the bus, a knowledgeable host will give you insights about the area. Once at the lakes, you are on your own and can take as much time as you want. Just make sure to pay attention to the bus departure times.

From Lake Louise, there’s a shuttle every 45 minutes to Moraine Lake. Every 45 minutes, there’s a shuttle from Moraine Lake that goes back to the parking area at the Lake Louise Ski Resort/Summer Gondola. Riders can board any shuttle they like from Lake Louise to Moraine Lake & from Moraine Lake back to the ski resort.

This is the ideal tour if you want some information on the drive to the lakes but also want to have your own free time around Moraine Lake and Lake Louise, not be on a scheduled tour with a guide walking you around the lakes.

WowBanff Transport Overview

  • Departs from: Lake Louise Ski Resort/Summer Gondola, where there is ample free parking.
  • Duration: Dependent on You
  • Cost: Starts at $50
  • Pets allowed: Service dogs only
  • Wheelchair Accessible: The lower deck (inside of the bus) is wheelchair accessible.
  • Sunrise? No
  • Stops Included: Moraine Lake & Lake Louise
  • Operations: Early June to Early October
  • All reservations are final and non-refundable, but dates may be able to be changed depending on availability.

What Makes WowBanff Unique?

  • WowBanff is the only open-top shuttle that goes to Moraine Lake and Lake Louise in one day.
  • You can purchase walk-up tickets if space is available, but during high season, these seats sell out.
  • Allows a flexible schedule for hiking at Lake Louise and/or Moraine Lake.

Note: You must check in at the Lake Louise Park & Ride (Wow Banff Booth) before your scheduled departure time. This is where you can also park. Note that the Lake Louise Park & Ride lot is large, so you must leave enough time to walk to the Wow Banff Booth and check in. We recommend arriving to park 25 minutes before your scheduled departure time.

We're Cameron and Natasha

We've been writing about travel for the last decade. In 2018, we settled in the Canadian Rockies, one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Now, we live in Canmore and spend as much time as possible exploring and hiking around Banff. It’s one of the most spectacular areas and the perfect place for an outdoor vacation.

We aim to help you get the most out of your trip to Banff National Park and the surrounding areas. Learn more about us here. If you've found our website helpful for planning, please consider booking some of our recommendations or supporting our work here.
